E. Pearl Equestrian is based out of Emily Szokol's family farm located in Reddick, Fl. The 20 acre farm includes a 15 stall barn equipped with fans for every horse and fly system. Individual paddocks are set up with alley ways to keep the horses as safe as possible. There is a full course of show jumps, a dressage arena, and 10 acre field for hacking or conditioning. In the future, we hope to have a full cross country course.
Emily's goal is to have a barn full of quality horses. Emily aspires to ride at the highest level in both eventing and show jumping. One day, she dreams to ride for her country. Alongside that journey, Emily enjoys starting young horses and producing them as far a they'd like to go.
Emily has begun making trips to Cooley Farm in Ireland to bring back top level athletes to compete and sell. Emily's personal horse is a talented youngster sourced by Richard Sheane. After, spending a month in Ireland in 2021 Emily saw an opportunity to import and sell Cooley horses to the American market. Emily also spent 2 months of the 2023 summer at Cooley Farm to continue learning how to source and produce top level athletes. If you're looking for your next horse contact us!
Emily Szokol got the horse "bug" from her mom, who started putting her on horses long before her feet could reach the stirrups. Emily learned to ride on her mom's horse, Gaylan. Soon, Emily was fully immersed in a hunter/jumper lesson barn, not only learning how to ride but also how to care her for her own horse.
Fast forward, Emily was about 13 and met Tik Maynard. After a few lessons with Tik, he suggested the sport of Eventing. Something Emily had never heard of before. Although, she was unsure about the cross country phase, Emily eventually fell in love with the discipline and never looked back. Emily began working for Tik at the age of 16, she also took her first trip to Florida that year. While working for Tik, Emily learned an immense amount how horses think and learn. She learned how important patience is and how far it can get you. Emily also had the opportunity to start young horses under the watchful eye of Tik. Including her first competitive event horse, Jimmy. Starting young horses is still something Emily very much enjoys and continues to do. After working for Tik until the age of 19, Emily decided it was time to further her education with a new trainer.
Emily went back to her home state of New Jersey for a little bit, but it wasn't long before she found herself back in Ocala, Fl. Emily met Jon Holling and eventually went to work full time for Holling Eventing. During her time at Holling Eventing, Emily got a serious taste of competing consistently. Emily brought Franco SSF from novice up to Intermediate in just two years. Emily and Franco SSF had many preliminary wins and even a top 15 finish at the 2*L level. Not only did Emily gain competition miles, she also learned a great deal about maintaining upper level event horses, and general vet care.
A huge surprise came when Emily's parents decided to purchase a farm in Ocala. Although a bit premature, Emily decided to start her own business and leave Holling Eventing. Since leaving Emily has started many young horses, imported a few from Cooley Farm, and met many new faces. Emily's current mount, Cooley Escape was a green prospect when she purchased him in 2021. He is now competitive at the modified level with hopes of competing at the top level of the sport in the long run.
Emily was lucky enough to spend a month at Cooley Farm in the fall of 2021. While at Cooley Farm, Emily was surrounded by an innumerable amount of talented horses. She learned a lot about what qualities a talented and willing horse has for the upper levels. After her experience in Ireland, Emily decided she wanted to start bringing high quality horses over to sell to the U.S. market. Emily brought back a young horse she started for a client and another one who was quickly sold to be a show hunter.
Emily has many goals for her business. She wants to ride at the highest level of eventing and show jumping, continue to start young horses, and import quality horses to sell. Emily puts a lot of focus into ensuring the horses in her program are receiving the care and training they need to succeed in whatever path they may be going down. Emily also enjoys teaching and seeing the improvements her students make. The equestrian lifestyle is not for the faint of heart; but it is one Emily loves and can't imagine living without.

Emily has been riding in Stübben saddles since she was 12 years old. Emily loves the support they provide her and the comfort they provide her horses. Stübben saddles are made with a flexible tree that moves with the horses' backs. Emily's favorite saddles are the Monoflap Zaria Optimum and the Euphoria dressage saddle. Although known for their saddles, Stübben has a wonderful line of accessories including bits, bridles, spurs and much more! Please contact Emily for more info on these wonderful saddles and accessories.
Invictus half pads have been used daily by Emily for 5+ years. These half pads provide excellent support to the horses' backs without changing the fit of the saddle. The half pads are made from D3O® Smart Material technology. Using this technology, the molecules remain fluid with movement unless there is pressure created. Then the molecules come together to form a surface to protect against the impact. Emily believes these half pads are a huge reason why she hasn't dealt with back soreness in her horses.
